Description
- Our first stop will be Tlatelolco, the archaeological site famous for being part of the capital of the Aztec empire. We will visit the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, where pre-Hispanic and colonial influences are combined with the present of the Mexican capital. We will admire in the same place remains of the Aztec pyramids, a viceregal convent and contemporary buildings.
- We will head north until we reach the foot of Cerro del Tepeyac to visit La Villa de Guadalupe, one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world.
- We will visit the interior of the current Basilica of Guadalupe, built in honor of the patron saint of Latin America, and the old basilica that currently functions as an atoning temple to Cristo Rey.
- We will continue our tour to Teotihuacán, where we will stop for lunch at one of the restaurants in the area.
- Then, we will continue with the tour and tour the so-called City of the Gods, the most visited archeological zone in Mexico.
- We will cross the Causeway of the Dead while we discover the secrets of Teotihuacán. We will approach the Palace of Quetzalpápalotl and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl. In addition, we will have free time in case we want to ascend to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun or the Pyramid of the Moon.
- We will stop at a workshop operated by a Teotihuacan family to enjoy a tasting of drinks made with cacti, such as traditional tequila, mezcal and pulque.
